Leadership Team


Chief Executive Officer

Originally from the UK, Martin has more than 30 years’ experience in the transport sector in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. 

He oversaw the introduction of the fleet of 3-car EMUs onto Auckland’s then newly electrified rail network and implemented a new high frequency timetable, which successfully doubled passenger capacity in some areas. 

He has a great deal of operational experience and has developed initiatives that have earnt awards for improving on-board customer experiences and reducing health and safety incidents in the workplace.


Chief Operations Officer

Madga has over 18 year’s experience in the rail industry in Australian rail and light-rail networks that provides her with the knowledge and skills to create a step-change in the Auckland rail service. Magda is known for her ability to lead a culture of high performing teams and excellent customer service delivery.


Chief Financial Officer

Alex is a finance and accounting professional with over 18 years in the rail, construction, health, defence, justice and resources sectors. Alex’s deep and broad commercial and finance experiences across different industries and countries will be of great benefit to Auckland One Rail. 


General Manager Customer & Community

Gary brings a broad a range of business experience to AOR including over 20 years’ in customer experience leadership roles in the public transport and the postal sectors. He has a passion for developing and delivering initiatives that translate into tangible improvements in the front-line customer experience.


Director of CRL Operations

Cameron has a background in rail projects, steering large-scale initiatives and complex projects from concept to operational excellence, taking rail networks from construction to operation.

He brings a wealth of experience in leading multidisciplinary teams, stakeholder management,  strategic planning and resource allocation.

At AOR he has been key in large-scale project coordination, risk management, and the implementation of operational safety measures.

He currently contributes strategic insights into operational readiness, systems assurance, safety, and risk management for the City Rail Link Project.


General Manager People and Culture

Linda has a diverse background working as an HR generalist across a wide range of industries from heavy manufacturing to construction and hospitality as well as a significant period in both public and private health businesses. This diverse background allows Linda to draw on her experience to find solutions to issue which may be outside of what a rail environment would normally consider.

Linda has a passion for developing people and enhancing their roles to lift peoples job satisfaction. Another goal Linda has for Auckland One Rail is to see our staff reflect the public we serve. Lifting the number of woman working within the rail industry is at the top of the list.


General Manager Project Management Office

Charlene is an accomplished executive with over 30 years of experience in project management and strategy execution. She leads the PMO team and oversees the company’s project portfolio, while spearheading the development and implementation of project management best practice across the organisation. With a proven track record of successfully leading complex projects and driving organisational change across diverse industries, such as electricity, construction, telecommunications, IT/IS and education, Charlene brings a wealth of experience to our team.

Charlene is widely recognised for her ability to inspire and motivate team members to work collaboratively towards a common goal, while also providing guidance and mentorship to help them advance their careers.


General Manager Assets (Rollingstock) &
Operational Readiness

Juan is a seasoned manager with a demonstrated international history of working in different operational and project management roles on the client and supplier side of the business. 


His previous experience working with two of the major rollingstock manufacturers has prepared him with the right knowledge to lead our Rollingstock Team through the transition of the rollingstock maintenance contract in the near future.  


Juan’s capacity to remain focused on the final outcomes while navigating through complex project and operational environments will be essential in helping AOR delivering Auckland Transport’s vision for our biggest city’s public transport.
